Admission Criteria

Any Singapore citizen or permanent resident is eligible but priority is given to:

Needy and elderly

Neighbourhood residents

Referrals from acute care institutions

Multiple medical problems requiring extended treatment regimes or prolonged convalescence

Conditions not requiring emergency or intensive care

Caregiver requiring longer period of training or discharge arrangement

Admission Procedure

a. Inpatient Services

Admission to BVH is by doctor’s referral.

Appointment for admission is made by prior arrangement with BVH.

b. Outpatient & Home Care Services

Registration is by appointment.

Pre-registration by mail or fax for specific education programmes is welcomed.

c. Documents to bring

Identity card or permanent resident document / passport.

Medical reports.

Laboratory / X-ray results.

Any other medical health reports available.

Referral letter, if any.

d. Deposit

On admission, a deposit is required.

The amount of deposit varies with the type of services required.

e. Cancellation

Please notify the ward clerk of any cancellation prior to your admission.

f. During Your Stay - Dos & Don’ts

- Do bring:

Personal items

Slippers

Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc)

Personal aids, if any

Reading glasses

Hearing aid

Walking frame

- Don’t bring:

Valuables or excessive cash

g. Meals
Vegetarian food (non-halal certified) is served for the three main meals and three snacks.

Monday to Friday (8.30am to 5.30 pm)
Saturday (8.30 am to 12.30 pm)
Closed on Sunday and Public Holiday

Discharge Guide
When your attending doctor has declared you fit to go home, our ward staff will proceed with the necessary arrangement for you.

a. Check Out Time
Kindly note that check-out time is 1:00 pm.
An extra day’s rate will be charged for check-out after 1:00 pm.

b. Settling Your Hospital Bills

You may settle your bill at the hospital cashier at Registration upon or prior to your discharge. Refer to Hospital Administration Office Operating Hours.

c. Payment Modes
You can pay hospital deposits and bills by cash, local cheque, NETS, Medisave, insurance or through your employer’s coverage.

Visitors?Information

Family members and friends are welcomed and encouraged to visit patients.

Visiting hours are from 10 am to 9 pm daily.

We encourage family members and friends to participate in patient care.

Do contact the nurse to arrange for some familiarization or training in certain simple tasks (e.g. toileting and transferring to wheelchair).

Parking is free of charge at the hospital’s basement car park during visiting hours. No parking is allowed after visiting hours without hospital’s permission.
