Bright Vision Hospital (BVH) roadshow returned to Hougang Mall on 29 & 30 October 2011. Joined by volunteers and students from Bowen Secondary School, BVH utilised the community corner located at level 2 of Hougang Mall as a platform to reach out to residents. During the two days, Bowen Secondary School students went around the mall giving out BVH brochures and collecting donations while volunteers took the opportunity to introduce Bright Vision Hospital to the community. Students and volunteers also gave out redemption coupons for tokens of appreciation to all donors. These donors were encouraged to visit the community corner where handicrafts made by BVH patients were displayed and sold. The two-day event reached out to about 800 shoppers and raised a total donation of $2,513.81 for BVH. A cleaner working in the shopping mall signed up as monthly donor during the event, showing the true beauty of giving— One who gives does not need to be wealthy, but certainly rich spiritually. BVH is grateful to the strong support from AsiaMalls Management and would also like to extend appreciation to all volunteers, teachers and students from Bowen Secondary School for their time and help. ~ By Community Engagement team |
