History repeats itself for a good cause -100 Puat Jit Buddhist Temple devotees revisit Bright Vision Hospital!

Early this year, on 2 January, Puat Jit Buddhist Temple devotees visited Bright Vision Hospital (BVH).

Again on Sunday, 18 December 100 devotees from Puat Jit Buddhist Temple visited BVH. This was part of the temple’s annual tour of community hospitals and nursing homes.  BVH was their second stop of the day.

Prior to the devotees’ arrival, Puat Jit Buddhist Temple’s committee arranged with Sheng Siong Supermarket to deliver food supplies to BVH. Their donations included 1000 kg of rice, 120 packs of noodles, 300 packs of beverages and an assortment of canned food.

The devotees arrived 15 minutes later and were guided to Yen Pei Hall where they were pleasantly surprised by the refreshments that BVH’s Dietetics/Nutrition staff prepared for them.  Everyone enjoyed the nutritious green bean soup and invigorating hot beverages while BVH’s corporate video was played.  When the corporate video ended, the President of Puat Jit Buddhist Temple, Mr Ng gave a short speech to his members.  He presented a cheque donation to Ms Choo Shiu Ling, Director of BVH.  At the same time, Ms Choo presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr Ng to acknowledge Puat Jit Buddhist Temple devotees’ kindness and continued support for BVH’s patients.  Soon after, the devotees were later divided into 3 groups and given a tour of BVH’s facilities.  The 3 groups were led by BVH’s staff volunteers who explained the different hospital facilities and operations.  After the tour, the devotees better understood BVH’s operations and new developments including the new out-patient clinic (due to be completed by June 2012).

At the end of their visit, all Puat Jit Temple devotees were given a sponsored souvenir bag each as a token of appreciation. The devotees were pleasantly surprised to receive the token of appreciation.  One by one, as the devotees got back on their bus, we could see them looking very happy for having visited our hospital. “We will be back” was the non-vocal reply that we read on their faces.
