Staff from NParks celebrated Chinese New Year with our patients as part of their Corporate Kindness Day activity on 12 January 2012. The NParks’ staff were very well prepared as they brought along their own karaoke CDs and song sheets for the singing session. Their friendliness set the patients at ease and soon they were enjoying the delightful Chinese new year’s songs. One of the patients enjoyed the session so much that he started singing Teochew oldies to BVH’s staff seated around him. His songs brought back good memories. After the singing session, the NParks’ staff deployed into smaller groups and went around helping patients to make Chinese New Year decorations with red packets. The crafts were simple and the patients started making the decorations by themselves. Every patient had their own Chinese New Year decorations to bring back to their wards at the end of the Arts & Craft session. The staff from NParks also presented a souvenir bag to each patient before they went back to their wards. BVH appreciated the time and efforts the NParks’ staff had put in for the patients. Just before NParks’ staff debrief, BVH gave them each a BVH T-shirt and invited them back for future activities. ~ By Community Engagement team |
